Panasonic TVS Voice Mail Installation

TVS50 on KX-TA 624

TVS 50 can only be connected to ports 7 and 8 or ports 15 & 16

If using 15 & 16, you must use the 3 X 8 Expansion Card not the 0x8

 PHONE SYSTEM

  1. Program 998.  Make sure Y581A or higher
  2. Program 130, to enable jacks 7 and 8 or Program 131 to enable jacks 15 & 16
  3. These programs (130 or 131) automatically set EXG, Hunt Group, Hunting Type, and Voice Mail Port.  Jacks are automatically set for Data Line Security
  4. Set time on 624 system
  5. Program 109. set extension numbers as 165 and 166 (Optional but recommended, you can leave as 107/108 or 115/116)
  6. Restrict voice mail port 7 & 8 or 13&16.  (Hacker Warning)
  7. Connect to appropriate jacks, using 4-wire cord.
  8. Set CO lines to NORMAL (Programs 414, 415, 416).  If you set a line as DIL it will go directly to voice mail and not ring at any other station (you may want this at night).
  9. Set Ringing (Programs 408, 409, 410)
  10. Set Delayed ringing to give the user time to answer the call before the VPS connects. (Programs 411, 412, 413)
  11. Turn off the KX-TA 624

VOICE MAIL PROGRAMMING (you need laptop with communications software)

  1. Connect laptop and start communication software
  2. Set Dipswitches to position 5 (1 Left, 2 Right, 3 Left, 4 Right)
  3. Plug in TVS 50 and wait for system initialization  “System Administration” on screen
  4. Start up Completed. Connection is made when system light stops flashing and **ON LINE MODE ** is displayed
  5. Go to System Administration Top Menu and do Quick Setup and follow automatic Configuration Instructions.  Set up or delete mailboxes here.
  6. TEST: Press Intercom 165 and see if VPS answers.
  7. Set Dipswitch position to 0 (All switches to the Right)
  8. Set up port service for day and night.  Recommendation: INCOMING SERVICE should be custom 1 and INCOMING CALL SERVICE PROMPT should be User 1.
  9. Set up COS 1, especially AUTHORIZATION FOR MESSAGE NOTIFICATION, & MWL NOTIFICATION FOR UNRECEIVED MESSAGE.  These should both be set to YES
  10. System Administration Top Menu 1 5 7 3.  Message Waiting Lamp for every message should be set to YES
