How do I program and use a DSS/BLF Key?

Direct Station Selection (DSS): allows you to call another extension with the push of a key.

Busy Lamp Field (BLF): allows observation of another extension to see if it is busy or available.

With the handset down and the speakerphone off

Press the PROGRAM key.  (Use the PAUSE key if you do not have a PROGRAM key) Dial 99

Move the switch on the end of the phone from SET to PROGRAM or if you have a phone with a PROGRAM key, press PROGRAM.

Press the key you want to program

If the keys light turns red, dial 1 (if you select a key without a light, skip this step)

Dial the extension number

Press the STORE key (The key with AUTO DIAL above it and STORE below it)

Lift Handset and Hang Up When Completed

Return to SET position when programming completed or if you have a phone with a PROGRAM key, press PROGRAM..

The DSS/BLF is now stored.  It will light when the other person is on the phone.  You can call them by pressing the DSS key.  You can also transfer a call to them by pressing this key.

If you selected a key without a light on the left side of the key, it will not function as a busy lamp.  It will work as a DSS.
